Red necked or Bennett’s Wallabies are commonly found in Tasmania. They are the largest of the Tasmanian wallabies. These nocturnal animals rest in dense scrub during the day only coming out to feed as the light disappears. Wielangatta State Forest is located about south east of Hobart. The mottled trunks of the silver wattle are commonly found in the area.
