King parrots are found in heavily timbered mountain or rainforest areas along most of the lower east coast of Australia. The male is the most colourful having a scarlet head and belly whilst the female is mainly green. The tree is typical of large specimens found in rainforests with a heavily buttressed base and climbers. Lots of personality.
