This charcoal work shows a soldier on patrol in the Middle Eastern conflict of Iraq. He is armed with the current basic weapon of the Australian Defence Force, the 5.56mm, Austeyr. He is dressed in a kevlar helmet and body armour and carries his fighting equipment in a combat vest rather than the webbing systems of other conflicts.
